Nokia Lumia 2520 - Fist Tablet by Nokia - What's new?


Nokia has introduced its first tablet Nokia Lumia 2520  in the market on 22 October, 2013 along with Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520 Smartphone. Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet is expansion of Lumia series as company claimes. Nokia is well known for mobile making but now it inters the tablet market where it has to compete with two leading company Apple and Samsung.  Let us take a look over this tablet: What's in it for you.




Nokia Lumia 2520 is embedded with latest features and presented in an attractive shape & size. It runs on Windows RT 8.1 operating system over 10.1 inch 1080 pixel display using Gorilla Glass 2 for toughness as it supports A 4G LTE modem & Wi-Fi that ensure lightning fast communication. It is powered by 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 system chip as well as Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM for flawless performance from the touch-screen operating system, without soaking up the battery.  




The tablet also comes with 32GB inbuilt storage which can be further expandable up to an additional 32GB with microSD card. It also packs a 8000mAh battery. The system is design to selectively cut down power consumption when it’s not needed.   Battery backup is very strong that means if you run full operating system, it will perform such feats as playing video for ten hours non-stop without a charge. Another feature of battery is quick charge ability; it gets charged up up to 80% in an hour. 




Nokia Lumia 2520 has a high quality 6.7 megapixel rear camera with ZEISS optics and an f1.9 aperture for great low light performance supported by two new apps Storyteller and Video Director. Front Face camera usually known as secondary camera is 2 megapixel camera which allows for crystal clear video calls. 





The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet is also embedded with a number of preloaded applications that the company notes are exclusive to the Lumia family like, the Dragons Adventure, an interactive game developed by Nokia in partnership with DreamWorks Animation; Nokia Storyteller, a Nokia developed app that organizes images into stories on an interactive HERE map by date and place and Nokia Video Director, an application that offers the ability to edit recorded videos as well as content from Nokia Lumia smartphones and even comes preloaded with Microsoft Office and Outlook. It also includes an exclusive version of Nokia Music with Mix Radio.





Nokia Lumia 2520 is available in four colours red, cyan, white and black and initial it is available for sale in US, UK and Finland at an estimated price of USD 499 (locak taxes and subsidies) or around Rs 35000 approximately. Lumia 2520 will work with Nokia Power Keyboard which will come at a recommended price of $149 (Rs. 9,100 approximately).
